  1. ‘Beauty in the eye of its beholder’

This is in reflection to a common real life situation. The dance symbolises and reflects of the dancer’s mood and emotions. The way she expresses herself throughout the dance. The feeling she has gone through and the breakage it left her feeling. A broken piece to a puzzle that can never be fixed again. Like if you glue a broken vase it still will never be the same. It explains when you love someone so much and never think anything tragic will come by. Nothing else matters but knowing your loved until you become crashed. To the point where the levels of insecurity rises and what you went through matters more than your current reality base. This then leads her in pieces which she then develops to have a character change. Trying to be something different yet it fails to configure and she dysfunctions.
Doll face (2):

Dance based on short film doll face; about how we all shrive to be something we are not naturally-how we all suffer to be something we are not.
A machine with a doll face mimics images on television screen in search of a satisfactory visage. Doll face presents a visual account of desires misplaced and identities fractured by technological extension into the future.
The idea is of how people are manipulated into presenting themselves in a certain way to make them look and feel beautiful. The lengths that women go through to achieve beauty and perfection.

‘Sometimes people have to suffer to look good’ (3)

Dance Form/ Structure:
Form and structure: my dance is in ternary form (ABA)
Section A1:
  • Insecurity
  • Personal space – starts at low level about looking in the mirror
  • Confinement – key motifs and development in section B
Section B2:
  • Shred part of the skin- Pulling shirt ( having a focus point to express the stimulus and reaching to escape)
  • Exploring outside of the personal space showing apprehension, but a bit more confidence. (gestural shows accumulation to show the dancers anguish growing)
Section A3:
  • Shedding the motifs and repeating them expanding each move ( for repetition, flash back was included on how the dancer felt)
  • Confidence was used to explore general space
  • Climax/Ending-  bringing the motifs together from the first section and retrograde as if to flash back to memorise and shred them/disregard, strong, confidence powerful movement.

From this we did a Pixilation animation on After Effects.
Firstly you open AE

Then you go on file import

Then you go on import, file

Click on the First Image, then tick below that it’s a JPEG and you can tick again to force Alphabetically

After this you may click Import and you will see that you file has been uploaded onto AE

After your file has been uploaded you can now get started
You can simple view your footage by clicking it to see each one.

You then do the fame for The music which will then appear  with your file

After this you click on Composition and do a new composition I did one with a black background and made it the same time as the music

After this I dragged my photos onto the background and made it the same width and length as the composition
You then go on layer Transform and fit the composition whichever way fits the background
Now it’s fit to the composition you want               you can then start your movie with your sound and then have a picture animation base on your story line ready to watch

The final animation has been fragmented and divided into 3 different sections. the images have been purposely put in different orders to show mixed feelings and emotions being uncontrolled and expressed throughout the animation itself. in conclusion to this, the group animation is based on a love that was once there and when pain came it ruined everything and took things apart.
